I have a 2 year old sandisk sansa 1gb mp3 player. This morning i plugged it into my ps3 to charge. Later i tried 2 turn it on and it didn't work. Then i plugged it into my computer and on the screen it says writing and the battery life is full. When i unplug it from my pc it wont turn on. The screen just stays blank. Can someone help me.

I just got an MP3 player and know nothing at all about how to get music on them. (I am not a technical person at all. I am old and barely can use computer)

It is a 4G and is not an IPod kind of MP3 player. It is a Sandisk Sansa brand/kind.

I have no idea of places to download music from. Only interested in music. No videos (the MP3 doesn't have a video screen) and no other downloads.

I am mainly interested in gospil music, bigband music (music of the 1940's and WWII era), easy listening kind of music, and some oldies rock (1950's, 1960's and a little bit of the 1970's)

Hi I have a Macbook and I want the Zune HD. I asked Best Buy and they told me I would have to buy Windows 7 ($220) in order to run the Zune HD's software. Is it worth it? I obviously do not care for Windows, that's another story. The Zune HD is already like $290 so I'm looking at like $500 total.

My iPod Touch is dying and out of warranty. I don't think I want another one either. If not the Zune or iPod what is a good mp3 player that is MUCH cheaper, at least 30GB or expandable memory and still offers great features? What about the walkman how is that doing now days?.. Okay, so I need a new mp3 player because my 30gb 1st Gen Zune just isn't cutting it anymore. My problem rests in which one of these newest gen mp3 players I want.

My Situation. A few factors make my decision hard.

-I love Microsoft. I love my Xbox and Xbox Live and I know they are planning on expanding into every possible market they can, therefore connecting all their devices into Live Anywhere or whatever they call it. Not to mention they could have some cool games for the Zune HD and maybe eventually use your wifi for some type of connection to Live? I also use my Xbox Live account on Zune marketplace and it's nice to have one account for two things, if I buy an episode on my Xbox 360, I can also use it on Zune marketplace and use my Microsoft points from my Xbox Live account to buy stuff on the Zune Marketplace.

-I want to buy a Macbook Pro. I already have an Alienware m15x, and I use Windows and have no problem with it..kinda goes along with first post. But I think it's be nice to have an ipod Touch and a Macbook since Apple is known for it's Music experience and simpleness of their products.

-I have a car that has a touchscreen DVD player on the dash and it has an ipod hookup, currently I just use an auxiliary cable to listen to my non-ipod players. It'd be cool to take advantage of that feature.

-I have a Palm Pre. I don't really know which one this leads me towards but I've even been using it for listening to music lately, it's also starting to have a decent share of apps(mind you not nearly close to apple's app store). But it does a lot of the stuff I feel I could probably do with a third gen touch or even an iphone.

I was planning on getting a Zune when it came out but I decided to wait till Christmas and possibly receive it as a gift. But recently I've been wanting to buy an ipod due to it's apps. I am very confused to which one to buy, I put in some decent hours into gaming every week so I also think Zune HD will have some nice games coming up, unfortunately that's not in stone and Apple already has a ton of apps and games out.

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place right now in terms of deciding, and I need some guidance.

I just got a new mp3 player today. It is a Coby MP815-4G. I plugged it into my computer and my computer recognized and installed drivers and what not for it (it took a few tries.) However, I'm trying to synch songs to it via Windows Media Player. The player is under "My Computer," but doesn't show up in WMP no matter how much I refresh it. The player is on and everything. When I open it up in "My Computer," it doesn't show any folders (such as Music, Videos, etc.) and most of my music isn't located in the Music folder in my computer...most is in WMP. How do I get the player to show up so I can synch it? Or, how do I get my songs on it otherwise? (WMP preferred.)
Oh, it doesn't have a synch mode. I synched a few songs from a different computer without any difficulty. It's just the WMP on this computer that's not working...

Alright so I have 3,000 - 5,000 songs, crazy right? Well I'm really into listening to music on the go, so I'm looking for a good MP3/Music Player that can provide a lot of memory but small (" If you were wondering what I mean as in small, I mean in Length, Width and Height. "). I've had the Zune MP3 Player and I did not like it one bit. I like the iPod Classic which can hold 40,000 songs, but it's to big for my taste. I'm looking for something as small as the the iPod Shuffle 1GB. Does anyone know of a MP3/Music Player than can be that size and have enough space/memory to store a couple thousand songs. It does not have to be Apple or Zune, or any special brand.

Bascially I need a good mp3 player for the gym that I can clip onto my clothing as I am not keen on arm bands.
I already have a ipod classic and ipod shuffle.
I have an arm band for the classic but its too big and the battery life is non existent these days.
The shuffle annoys me just because of the last few times I've managed to wipe all my music off when I charge it due to not keeping the itunes library with the same songs.

My nephew has an mp3 player (a really cheap one, a Nextar 1GB if it matters). So I plugged it into my HP desktop computer, then copied some songs onto it.

But now that HP desktop computer no longer works. So I plugged the mp3 player into my Acer laptop, to put more songs on it, and to copy a few off. But when I plug it in, when the window comes up, no songs are showing up! It looks as if the player is empty, but the songs I put on there before are still there, and it even says "369MB free of 989MB".

So why aren't the songs showing up on the laptop, and how can I fix it?

Alright, my friend gave me his old ass Zen: Vision M mp3 player made by Creative. I plugged it in, it charges just fine, has quite a bit of music on it, however, the problem I'm having is that my laptop isn't recognizing it as a Zen at all, it just says MTP Device and I can't add music or remove, nor can I do anything with pictures. Is there any way I can fix this? My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1525.

I am thinking about getting an iphone and can't decide between the 8gb 3G or the 16gb 3Gs. Here are the differences that I can tell. Obviously the hard drive is bigger but right now I have an mp3 player that is only 1gb so either way I am gaining. The 8gb has a 2MP camera and the 16gb has a 3MP camera. I have a real camera that is 7MP so I am not sure that is a big deal. They both have a horizontal keyboard and can cut, copy, paste. Is the compass that great? I don't get the voice commands.

What else am I missing? Is it just having more space? Which one do you have? What are your complaints? What do you like about it?

Hi, I lost my ipod recently. I'm using my friends old MP3 player for tomorrow. It only holds 1GB of music, so I made a playlist of my favorite songs on iTunes for it. However, I cannot simply drag the playlist from iTunes and put it on Windows Media Player, and I'm out of ideas.
How do I do this?

Okay, so I've had this bloody thing for a little over two years. My friends in the past have been putting all of my music on it. I finally figured out how to do it myself, but I've encountered a problem - it won't let me put any more music on it unless I delete songs first. It has plenty of space left on it, considering only 793MBs are taken up and it allows for 987MBs. This is quite upsetting and would really appreciate the help.

I had a Sansa fuze 4g for easter from my nan and I LOVED IT! It was such a cool, easy to use, funky little MP3. Then the screen went a very washed out blue colour and it stopped working, this was only a month after I got it, so my parents went through sending it back, finally, after six months, i got a new one, that was about two weeks ago. Tonight I went out on the trampoline in our garden and was listening to my music. Then the song stopped I took it out of my pocket and the screen was a dark blue, it still is. That was over an hour ago, i can't turn it off or connect it to my computer. I need to fix it quick or my mother is going to be-head me when she finds out it's broken.

FYI- my budget is low and i dont need a computer that runs perfectly and its performance is outstanding. Its for web surfing and general gaming.

Ok so I have a Sweex mp051 1GB mp3 player which I got last year. And today when I removed it from my pc it didn't start anymore. When I insert the battery it says: "Starting..." but it's like it's frozen, can't even shut it off. And now when I connect it to the computer it tells me it's an unknown usb device.(Tried at 2 other computers too)What can I do? I didn't get the manual or an installations with it.

I have had my Sony Walkman NW-S203F mp3 player for over 2 years now and as things do, it is starting to die.

It's very easy to use and has a band which put on on your upper arm. You also flick the switch to change the songs. I guess you could say it is my best friend in the gym.

Sony do not make this one anymore. eBay does not have it. So I have to face the fact of buying a different one. But what good ones are there out there? I don't want an iPod. No colour screens as I have had trouble in the past with them and I only use the mp3 player for music, that is it. I need it to have an arm band, easy to use and good quality. Thanks in advance :)

Okay so i have the mp822-4g and i've had it for about a month/a month and a half now and its been working amazing! Then out of no where i put more songs on it (from my cd) and whenever i try to play ANY SONG (excluding the cd song) it will play the first 3 seconds then totally freeze! I will reset it and try again and it still wont work! I tried formatting it, i tried restoring to factory settings and everything! I would return it to where i bought it (Big Lots) but i lost the reciept. Is there anything i can do? I cant afford to buy another one right now and this is all i have =( Any ideas?

My Creative Zen nano plus 1GB mp3 player doesn't seem to want to accept any song. I haven't plugged it into a computer to put songs on it for almost 2 years now. And now i can't seem to put any songs on it. Everytime i drag and drop onto the MP3's storage the transfer window "place where i dragged and dropped/pasted" the files will freeze. Does this mean my MP3 player is busted and i need to get a new one?

It's a flash MP3 player. Not a Harddrive one. Please suggest how to fix it. I have already tried reformatted and it doesn't help at all.

I have to reformat my computer, however, I have a few GB+ files (Family Videos, etc) that I can't really lose. My CD Burner has stopped working (wont even open) and can't afford a new one. I can use my MP3 Player for 1gb of the stuff, but that's about it :S But there's more (since some are over 1gb on their own)

Unfortunately, all the places that are free don't allow more than 50-100 MB per file. I'd even be ok with a free trial place, as it wouldn't take more than a few days to reformat and redownload them.

I bought some nice new expensive headphones the other day, and they work perfectly on my computer at home but when I plug them into my mp3 player.. the quality is not the same. The sound seems unbalanced and not as loud. I tested with the same files on my computer and mp3 player and it just comes down to worse quality sound on the mp3.

Why is this? Is this normal? Do mp3 players compress the .mp3 files or something?

I have a 4g memory card. I have had it in the player when I sync it with my computer. I have had it in a card reader and loaded it that way. Either way the player doesn't recognize it. What am I doing wrong?

My iPod Video 30GB broke a few weeks ago and i'm saving up for a new MP3 player. I'm torn between the two.

Here's my software situation:
- I have WinAmp and that is what i used to sync my iPod up with (I used the ml_iPod plugin; just as a side note it's a lot faster than using iTunes)
- iTunes takes up way too much space and it runs really slow on my computer (i have xp sp2 btw)


So you tell me why i should get another iPod or go with a Zune.
i only have about 50gigs of hdd space on my laptop and itunes takes up 80,000 kb according to add/remove progragrams
most of my hard drive space is taken up by music (so basically i need a new computer, or clean out all the programs and podcasts that i don't need)

okay, on my mp3 player, there are 5 files that are just files. not .bin, .rar, .zip, etc. i try to delete them but that window pops up and saying that, it cannot be deleted, try finding the source or whatever. so i looked around and couldn't find "the source" any where on my computer or my mp3. so i look at the properties and its saying that the file(s) is empty, but is taking up space. even though my mp3 is 4g. i tried moving them off of my mp3, but the same thing happens again. i tried to make a folder and put it on my mp3 so i can put the files in it, but the same thing happens again. now, when i want to listen to music, the music folder screen is all f***ed up. and i think the files are preventing me from shooting videos. like I'll record for like 13-15 seconds and then my mp3 freezes. i tried looking on the internet; searched "delete unwanted files" but it was a fail. so here i am Y!A, what should i do? is there any software i can download or..?

I'm getting an ipod touch soon. Probably a 2nd gen because the 3rd gen is coming out soon but I know that it'll be WAY too expensive (I'm gonna wait for the official reviews before I make a purchase though just in case). Okay, so the most space the current ipod touches have is just 32g, is there some sort of hack or something so that I could add more music/video? I'm not too worried about running out of room for apps, it's mostly for music, but the entire reason for wanting the ipod touch is for apps, internet, everything else.
Also I have a 4g zune and I was wondering if you can make more space on that too?

The reason I even ask (because I can't find anything on google) is because a while back (before the first iphone) someone showed me how they got their ipod classic to hold more music and I was hoping that the new ipods were capable of this.

However, if this is impossible would it just be smarter to upgrade to a 120g zune instead of the ipod touch? 'Cause I'm not buying another mp3 for a long time after this. It'll be my birthday (or Christmas depending on the money) present to me.

I have a huge .mp3 collection, with everything from Opera to Rap, Pop to Metal. I currently have a 4GB .mp3 player, but I get annoyed whenever I feel like listening to something different, because I can guarantee that I haven't got that particular artist/album on the player at the time. So I have to go back to the computer, delete stuff, and copy the albums I want over.

i got a zune 30gb on ebay and whenever i listen to music the vocals are muffled and the guitars are all distorted. Whenever i press down really hard on the headphone port it goes back to normal so i opened up the zune and tried putting paper, tape, etc. to force the port down but nothing seems to fix the problem. The equalizer is off. What should i do i dont have any money to buy a new mp3 player and cant use custmer support.

I have a 30gb zune and there are a variety of car chargers available for it, but the main reason I want one is so I can listen to music through the car's speakers. Do most car chargers for mp3 players let you do that?

I bought an Ipod 30gb from a buddy of mine which has a ton of songs and videos that I want to keep. All of them were purchased through itunes or burned from his CD's. He has since purchased a later version Ipod. When I plug the Ipod into my computer it logs into his account and asks me to delete the content on the ipod. All i want is to keep the songs that i have on it currently and add some of my own music from my CD's / MP3s. How can I go about doing this? Will my collection still be categorized and easy to locate on the ipod if I convert it?

It's a Phillips GoGear SA3245/37 4g, and the pause/play button has stopped working. It won't turn on except for when I connect and disconnect it from my laptop, I can't select anything, and it's quite irritating. How do I hard reset it or otherwise fix it?
I've tried the reset button. How do I HARD RESET it? So it's wiped?

On a desktop harddrive and now an mp3 player....both devices mucked up while formatting them. The 80gb hard drive is only recognized as around 30gb now. The 8gb mp3 player is only recognized as a 1.3gb device now. What can I do to correct this kind of errors?

Yes it WAS, and of course I'm sure. I was adjusting partitions and the computer crashed. The next time I looked at the harddrive it was completely different. It has no free space and only one mucking small partition.

I currently have a 5G iPod video, 60GB, and a remote/FM radio accessory, I use it to listen to music (largely with the shuffle feature), audio podcasts, and music videos.

Video and photo playback are a plus, but not necessary on a Flash unit

Except for the apparent lack of remote, I really like the Creative Zen.
As I said, Apple is totally out of the question because of their accessory license chip. If they hadn't require accessory manufacturers buy an Apply license chip, I would consider Apple.

Other than the "No Apple" thing, I am quite flexible, so long as I can play my relatively static music collection (which I could whittle down to fit 8GB), with shuffle, and easy access to play/pause, skip track, and volume.

i want a mp3/digital music player that has a good battery life, is reliable, durable, good sound quality, supports a large range of audio files, and has a big storage capacity (30gb +...preferably 80gb) and is good value too.... i dont care about touch screen, video playback and all the bells and whistles...just a good music player!

I have a Coby MP705-4G and every time I try to download a movie, it says "ERROR"... Help please?

i recently broke my ipod classic and i need a new mp3. but my funds are limited so i saw 2 music players for the same exact price on ebay. i cant decide whether to get a first generation 30gb zune or a sansa view. both look good but zune seems a little bulky and sansa seems to have problems with freezing. which player would be better for the price?

I am looking at purchasing this MP3 player, but I don't know anything about the brand, I would like to hear some more about this before I purchase it. The sale price is $99. Is it worth it? Or is there any other good MP3 players that are priced better than ipods?
