I have a huge .mp3 collection, with everything from Opera to Rap, Pop to Metal. I currently have a 4GB .mp3 player, but I get annoyed whenever I feel like listening to something different, because I can guarantee that I haven't got that particular artist/album on the player at the time. So I have to go back to the computer, delete stuff, and copy the albums I want over.

So, I'm looking for a new .mp3 player. It must
- have 40GB minimum storage
- be compact
- play .mp3 files without conversion to another format
- be sold in the UK or US (I'm sick of chinese stuff from ebay that never works)

I don't need
- games
- a big screen (it'll be strictly music only)
- wifi
...and ideally, it won't use iTunes.

Anybody have any suggestions? Ten points on offer...

I'm looking for a mp3 player with 30gb+ of memory for around £150 or less.
So far I'm thinking about the 120gb iPod Classic or the 16gb Creative Zen MX with an extra 16gb SD card. But are there best, large capacity mp3 players?

okay now i have used Windows 95 all the way to Vista and well now i have ran XP the longest love it but i am a guy who gets bored with samething and i here you can customize and do so much more with Linux instead of Windows but the question is which is better for what i want i run
1:MP3's i do music i download love to Frostwire
2:have to have Office 2007 for school
3:not to big on games
4:fast i looking for speed in a Compaq Presario SR1103WM with 30GB hard drive, 512 RAM 2.53Ghz processor celeron D
5:i do transfer music from computer to memory cards and MP3's too so need good music player i use Windows Media Player and well hate Apple products period and have tried VLC but wondering if there is better program
6:i have to have Firewall and Anti-Virus protection even though most viruses and trojans etc... don't mess with Linux or Apple still want to be safe you know put mind at ease i guess lol

Okay so I have this BRAND NEW MP3 player that I got & I was thinking about selling it over eBay to make some money. Like I said it is brand new, hasn't been used. It can store video, songs, & photos. It's a 4g. & It has like this text feature where you can write notes at any moment. I was thinking( if you can do this, I've never used eBay before) to start the bid at $60.
