Open Question: Can I make a separate windows media library in order move over all my mother's songs from her mp3 player?

Three days ago my mothers computer stopped working. I have never used Windows Media Library in my life, so it's foreign to me. Is there a way I can set up a separate library on my computer so that my mother will be able to have someplace she can have her songs until I can ghost her HD and put the new drive into her computer?
